3. INVESTIGATION OF HEAT CONVECTION DURING VEHICLE BRAKING

The aim of Journal of Thermal Sciences and Technology, which started its publication in 1977, is to encourage the development of heat science and technology and to enable the publication of original, theoretical, numerical and experimental papers in its field.

In the Journal of Thermal Sciences and Technology, articles on the results of original theoretical and experimental studies in the field of heat science are published.

The articles are accepted in Turkish or English. The articles may be prepared in free format for the first presentation. However, it is necessary to prepare the accepted articles for publication in accordance with the publication format of the journal.

A sample article prepared in accordance with the publication format of the Journal of Thermal Sciences and Technology is presented on the journal webpage. After the referee evaluations, the accepted articles for publication must be prepared in accordance with the publication format of the Journal of Thermal Sciences and Technology. The abstract must contain 200 to 250 words. There can be 3-5 keywords.

The articles accepted after the evaluation of the referees should be sent electronically together with the “Copyright Process Form” after they have been prepared in accordance with the printing format as described in the publication rules. With this form, it is confirmed that paper is original and nor sent for publishing in other journals or elsewhere. If the paper or some part of it is published elsewhere before, this also confirms that our journal has right to publish it as well, which means we claim the right to publish it in Journal of Thermal Science and Technology and all the copyright is given to  Journal of Thermal Science and Technology.

Responsibilities of the Editor in Chief and the Editorial Board
1. Publication Decisions: Editor in Chief and the Editorial Board have the right to decide which articles submitted to the journal, will be published.
2. Review Process: The editors shall ensure that the peer review process is fair, unbiased, and timely. Research articles must typically be reviewed by at least two independent reviewers.
3. Fair Play: The editor should evaluate manuscripts for their technical and intellectual content.
4. Journal Metrics: The editors shall not attempt to influence the ranking of the journal by artificially increasing any journal metric.
5. Confidentiality: The editor must protect the confidentiality of all material submitted to the journal and all communications with reviewers, unless otherwise agreed with the relevant authors and reviewers.
Responsibilities of the Reviewers
1. Contribution to Editorial Decisions: Peer review assists the editor in making editorial decisions and through the editorial communications with the author may also assist the author in improving the paper.
2. Reviewing Etiquette: Reviewers are asked generally to treat authors and their work as they would like to be treated themselves and to observe good reviewing etiquette.
3. Promptness: Any selected reviewer who feels unqualified or does not have time to review the research reported in a manuscript should notify the editor and excuse himself from the review process.
4. Objectivity: Reviews should be conducted objectively. Personal criticism of the author is inappropriate.
5. Disclosure and conflict of interest: Privileged information or ideas obtained through peer review must be kept confidential and not used for personal advantage.
6. Confidentiality: Manuscripts received for review are treated as confidential documents; they must not be disclosed to or discussed with others.
Responsibilities of the Authors
1. Authors & Co-authors: Authors are advised to follow the guidelines and code of ethics strictly. They are required to submit the manuscripts related to their original work with innovative results. These manuscripts cannot be submitted for publication elsewhere. Manuscripts must be free from plagiarism and mutilated data and fabricated results. Citation should be properly referred. Authors are advised to cross check the references before submission of manuscript. Authors must be directly associated with work submitted for publication.
2. Publication and Submission fees: No fees or charges are required from authors for manuscript submission or publication.
3. Open Access Policy: The journal is freely available online. Authors are required to agree with this open access policy which enables unrestricted access and reuse of all published articles.
4. Multiple, Redundant or Concurrent Publication: An author should not in general publish manuscripts describing essentially the same research in more than one journal of primary publication. Submitting the same manuscript to more than one journal concurrently constitutes unethical behavior and is unacceptable.
5. Disclosure: Authors are responsible for disclosing all financial and personal relationship related to the manuscript.
6. Fundamental errors in published work: When an author discovers a significant error or inaccuracy in their own published work, it is the author’s obligation to promptly notify the journal editor or publisher and cooperate with the editor to retract or correct the paper if deemed necessary by the editor. If the editor or the publisher learn from a third party that a published work contains an error, it is the obligation of the author to cooperate with the editor, including providing evidence to the editor where requested.
